Course Description
At French Academy of Cosmetology you will learn an exciting and rewarding profession that will give you the latest
advances in nail technology. We have found that beautiful nails have become a grooming
essential, where skills are in demand.

• Manicures/Pedicures
• Sculpting acrylic
• Nail art
• Tips with overlay
• Silk/fiberglass wraps
• Artificial application/removal
• Nail disorders
• Sanitation/safety precautions
• Product/sales knowledge
Nail Technician: 400 total hours
Nails
Nail theory, manicures, and pedicures, sanitation, safety, nail art and nail nutrition, practical training,
sculpting techniques for acrylic and real nails, nail disorders and diseases, nail structure, product usage,
product sales and knowledge.
Hours
Full-Time Nail Technician: 35-50 Hours are required per week. The course, for full and part time,
takes 400 hours (the first 100 spent in the classroom as a junior student, the rest are spent out on the floor as
a senior student working on clients).
Part-Time Nail Technician: 20-40 hours are required per week
Every other Saturday is required, after accomplishing the 100 hours and becoming a senior student.
School hours
8:30a – 4:30p Monday-Friday
8:00a – 4:00p Saturday
Requirements
*All French Academy Students must pass with a minimum of 80% grade level in all
Subjects.
Dress Code
Black pants, skirt and/or Capri’s.
Black or white shirt
No sleeveless shirts.
Totally enclosed black shoes.
Apron and nametag (that are provided) must be worn at all times.
